Abandoned Buildings
1980 – 1990

OVERVIEW:
For the year 1979, I collected empty pint sized, green wine bottles from the streets of New York City. Every bottle and cap collected was washed in my studio. Boxes were constructed to replicate the box that the manufacturer used to ship their product to local liquor stores. I inserted a photograph of burned-out buildings into each bottle. The edges of the photographs were burned. Each box was stamped Abandoned Buildings. That year I produced 187 cases of Abandoned Buildings
